About
Gregor Mas

Economics student working where rigorous method meets real policy questions.

Who I am

I’m a master’s student in Economics at LMU Munich, with a background in economic consulting and applied research. I’m drawn to work that pairs careful empirical method with questions that matter for policy and markets: building the data and the models, then translating what they show into decisions people can act on.

Before Munich I studied Economics and Political Science in Heidelberg, with a semester at Leiden, and spent two years in applied research at LBBW and economic consulting at DIW Econ in Berlin. Across both I worked the full life cycle of a research question: collecting and cleaning the data, running the analysis, and writing it up for institutional clients.

Lately I’ve been drawn toward computational methods and their economic applications; machine learning and the econometrics of causal inference are particularly intriguing to me.

I’m open to roles in economic research and consulting, as well as more finance-centered positions such as asset management and portfolio operations. If that’s you, the CV and research pages have the details, and I’m easy to reach on the contact page.

Off the clock

Off the clock

When I’m not in front of a dataset, I’m usually outside: on a bike, in the mountains, or near the water.

Road cycling
My main sport. Long days in the saddle around Munich, and into the Alpine foothills when the season allows.
Mountains & sea
Hiking and the outdoors in summer, and any excuse to swap the city for open water. Munich’s position between the Alps and the lakes is hard to beat.
